"Jack" was one of the pioneers of live steam in the garden, his many articles over the years provided many of us the inspiration and know how to get something up and running in the great outdoors.
These pages are a tribute to this wonderful man and to remember him and have some fun along the way. Jack built many locos and pieces of rolling stock for his beloved "Border Counties Railway" The "BCR" hosted many a new engine from early manufacturers, to stretch their legs on the near scale mile of 16mm scale track. After his passing some of his rolling stock was passed on to relatives and close admirers. One of these pieces of rolling stock, a coal wagon built by Jack to the gauge of 32mm, was given to Ron Brown the editor of "Steam in the Garden " magazine.
Ron Brown knowing the keeper of the 32mm gauge flame in North America was Rob Kuhlman, it seemed only fitting for the wagon to go on into Rob's hands...so the Great Wagon Transfer began.
